Does anyone know how they were painted?
Well,
it is a complicated procedure by starting painting on a dark colour background called "imprimature". It is usually dark brown colour and the actual painting is made only with white paint starting from the light to the dark and then using little amount of paint with more turpentine they put the colour they need. This process continue many times until it start looking like this painting.
